The amount of rocks displayed is driven by a texture + Levels node, which is then fed as a mask into the new Shape Splatter v2 node.

Working on a few materials inspired by my hometown, and used the opportunity to play around with the new SDF functions/nodes (it's easier than it seems, and they save a lot of time once you've got the hang of it). Will definitely use them more from now on.
